Are you searching for a way to reach out and serve the community?: The New Horizons Outreach Ministry will have a volunteer opportunity available on Saturday, February 11 from 9am - Noon at the DaySpring Center (1537 Central Ave. / 46202). The center provides assistance to homeless families. The NHC Outreach Ministry and all interested volunteers will serve a meal and fellowship with the residents on 2/11. Class 1 / Salvation: 8:30am - 9:30am
Class 2 / Spiritual Gifts: 9:30am – 10:30am
Class 3 / Stewardship: 10:45am – 11:45am
Class 4 / God’s Word: 11:45am – 12:45pm
Attend just the classes you need or attend from 8:30am - 1:00pm if you need all 4 classes to graduate. Register at the Church Administration table.
New Sunday School Classes begin on 2/19.
Women’s Class: The study we will use is Beth Moore’s book, Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruit of the Spirit. It's a powerful study that will equip women to come to know the freedom of a life filled with peace, joy, gentleness, and other positive characteristics. By encouraging participants to develop and maintain an intimate relationship with the Spirit of God, this study will help you to nurture and cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in your daily life. Homework handouts for the first class which starts 2/19 will be available on 2/5 & 2/12. Thereafter, weekly homework handouts will be distributed in the classes on Sunday. Men’s Class: We will continue our study of “Winning at Work and at Home. This study focuses on the two areas that are central to a man's life: career and family.
Fresh Fire 40 Day Corporate Fast Beginning on Ash Wednesday (February 22nd) and continuing through Palm Sunday (April 1st) New Horizons Church will participate in a fast. During the fast we will partake of only water, juice, rice, beans, lentils, fruits and vegetables that do not contain any preservatives or additives. We will also be prayerful during this time for our church. Please contact your physician now to confirm that you may participate. Daily prayers and menus are available at the Church Administration table.
Food Pantry Drive: Help New Horizons Church stock the shelves at the Jewel Human Services Food Pantry by purchasing some or all of the items listed. Drop them off at Sunday service on February 26th.
Jarred Goods: Peanut Butter, Grape Jelly
Canned Goods: Vegetables/Fruit, Beans, Soup, Spaghetti Sauce, Tuna (in water)
Boxed Goods: Spaghetti, Rice, Cheerios, Oatmeal, Saltine Crackers, Macaroni & Cheese
Toiletries: Deodorant, Toilet Paper, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Feminine Hygiene Products, and Diapers.
